Most of the cases it is seen that customers after having new tattoo designs are using rich ointments for healing. After some days most of them use lotions to keep their skin moisturized. These lotions are also used so that the tattoos do not fade easily. But these lotions come in cheap rates and are proven to contain harmful ingredients that harm the skin in the long run.

Within the first 24 hours of getting a tattoo it is advisable to use ice as frequently as possible. The cold compress will reduce the inflammation and will also ease the pain. Generally it takes several weeks to heal after you have got your tattoo. In the initial period you need to go for mild cleansing with fragrance free body soap. For better results use anti-bacterial body soap along with luke warm water to clean the area. For the first few days you can not go for swimming and it is required to avoid the sun, sweat and dirt.

On the very first day of getting the tattoo, skin of that area tends to seep a clear liquid which is known as plasma. If it gets crusted on your skin then gently clear the area with warm water.

For the first 3 days of getting the tattoo, use only oil or any oil based ointment. To speed up the healing process, you can use natural products that are also safe for your skin. For quick healing and good after care of your tattoo, you can use light oil-based products that have tea tree oil, hemp seed oil, jojoba oil and aloe vera. Using these products will help to protect, heal and moisturize the skin. Moreover these natural ingredients would not affect the tattoo color.

After few days of getting the tattoo designs it is normal to get flakiness of skin along with an itchy feeling. To avoid all these you can apply natural lotions that will not fade your tattoo color. By applying this lotion you can also moisturize your skin and keep it hydrated. Using hemp seed lotions are highly recommended as other synthetic lotions can harm your skin. It is always better to use the one that contains fatty acid. Always try and avoid the products that contain ingredients like dyes, mineral oils, parabens or propylene glycol. You can use lanolin in the tattooed area but make sure it does not cause any allergic reaction to your skin.
