The Power of Brochures

Many business owners think that because everyone else is using brochure printing to promote their business, so should they only to find out that their brochures are only a waste of money and time in the end. So, how do you ensure you are making a wise decision in using brochure as your promotional material?

The first thing you should remember before deciding to use brochure is to determine its purpose and how it would reach your current and target customers. You have to think long and hard how your brochure is going to reach your objectives and how it will justify the cost.

At times, it may be a better option to use postcards or fliers, especially if it’s the cost that you are worried with. A well designed postcard or flier will cost lower than full color brochures. But if you can justify the cost and create a truly compelling brochure, you will easily enhance your business image and entice customer to patronize your products and services. Keep in mind that in a highly competitive and constantly changing market, the lifespan of your promo items are limited. Therefore, you should design them in such a way that they will deliver the result you need in no time.

Color. A colorful brochure is likely to catch people’s attention. Even when you leave it in a crowded rack, it will easily give out your message and shout, “pick me, pick me!” It doesn’t mean, though, you have to print your brochure in full color. Two-color can work in the same way as full color. For instance, if you own a resort, hotel, or restaurant, you can include pictures of people relaxing and enjoying your place. Remember to include people, not just the view. Keep in mind that you are telling people to have a good experience in your place. Your photos will easily let people imagine themselves in your place.

Highlight your products clearly. The first thing that people will ask themselves when reading materials is, “what’s in it for me?” If you offer several products or services, put them in an organized package that persuades people to try them. So, if you are sending brochure samples highlight the benefits of your products clearly and if appropriate put the best times to visit your place.

Practice simplicity. Many business owners have the tendency of shoving as much information as they can in a material. This often results in information overload that crams up the page. As much as possible, be creative but don’t overdo it. Use fonts and designs that people are familiar with to facilitate comfortable and easy reading.

After you have captured the attention of your target customers, it’s time to keep them informed. Tell them where your business is located and how they can contact you. You can consider including a map in your brochure to help your customers find the easiest route to reach you. Likewise, promise only products and services that you can deliver. Don’t make promises simply to attract customers. You’ll only loose customers rather than keep them if you are not able to deliver what you promised.

If done and designed properly, your brochures would not only get you the customers and sale you need, but lower promotional expense in the long run. Eventually, your satisfied customer will be the ones to promote your business to their friends, relatives, and acquaintances.
