Recently, Congress passed a sweeping ethics and lobbying law against lobbyists, which imposes heavier reporting requirements and potential criminal penalties.

With the consistent campaign carried out by the conservative democrat a law has been enacted that needs lobbyists to report four times a year. They are also required to furnish the information regarding any campaign contributions or meetings with public officials. The new law makes it a criminal offence for registered lobbyists to offer gifts or meals to lawmakers or their adviser.
